A child embraced by a caregiver

Help children living with chronic pain

A child who says it hurts is asking for help.

The story of Zosia, who was left on her own. Without help.

„Zosia the self-reliant one” is the perfect way to describe my daughter, her mum says, remembering the time before the illness began. Fibromyalgia fell on this family suddenly and turned their world upside down. How could such an ambitious and resourceful girl be stopped so brutally by a cruel disease?

Make a donation and help Zosia regain hope for a better tomorrow ❤️

What do we do?

We treat children no one else was able to help

Fibromyalgia, tension headaches and migraines, and chronic abdominal pain are the most common conditions affecting the children we support. We care for children who previously heard that they were “making it up” and “overreacting.”

Why do we act?

Because system-level solutions fail too often

There are only 4 pediatric pain clinics in Poland, while the problem affects up to 20% of children. We act because otherwise many children will be left without help.

How do we help?

We provide comprehensive care free of charge

Children receive:

  • medical care
  • psychological support
  • physiotherapy
  • social support

We help them reduce pain and regain everyday life.

Who are the children we support?

Who are the children we support?

We help children with many kinds of pain

We support children with cancer pain, genetic pain, post-operative pain, functional pain (including fibromyalgia), as well as chronic headaches, muscle pain and abdominal pain. Each of them has a different story — but none of them should face pain alone.

We educate and train

We educate and train

Change begins with knowledge We train doctors, nurses and therapists so they can diagnose and treat pain in children more effectively. We build awareness that chronic pain is a disease — not a whim.

Ola, age 8 — chronic headache For three years Ola has been living with chronic headachesthat can appear suddenly and ruin an entire day. In the morning she often wakes up with throbbing pain in her temples, so even getting out of bed is a challenge. At school she clenches her teeth and pretends everything is fine, even though light and noise only make her feel worse. In the evenings she hugs her stuffed toy and whispers that she wishes the pain would leave her alone at least for one night.

“I wish I could wake up without pain,” she says quietly.

Your support can give her what she longs for most — peaceful days and nights without suffering.

Maks, age 12 — abdominal pain without answers

Maks knows the routes to clinics better than the way to the football pitch. For a long time the tests showed nothing conclusive, but the pain kept returning after classes, during meals and before bedtime. Every “it’s probably stress” made him feel more and more alone.

“I wish someone would believe me,” he says to his mum.

Your support helps families reach specialists faster, people who know how to listen and look for the cause of pain.

Zosia, age 6 — pain after surgery

Zosia was supposed to go back to play, but after treatment every movement became cautious. Her parents saw her clench her hands, avoid stairs and stop asking to go to the playground. She needed a pain treatment plan, rehabilitation and calm guidance for the family step by step.

“I don’t want it to hurt again,” she repeats before the exercises.

A donation can fund therapy that helps a child regain trust in their own body.

Kuba, age 15 — fibromyalgia

Kuba looks healthy, so he often hears that he is exaggerating. Meanwhile muscle pain, fatigue and sensitivity to touch take away school, sport and time with friends. The hardest part is that the illness cannot be seen, and the suffering has to be explained again and again.

“I wish I had enough strength for an ordinary day,” he says.

Your support gives children like him access to a team that understands chronic pain and helps them regain everyday life.

Antek, age 10 — cancer pain

Antek is learning bravery faster than any child ever should. His treatment requires pain control, conversations with the family and constant care that responds before the suffering becomes unbearable. Every calmer day is a huge victory for him.

“It hurts less today” — that sentence changes everything.

Your contribution helps fund care that brings relief when the family needs it most.

Pain can and must be treated!

We help children living with chronic pain and their families, who far too often are left alone with it. In Poland, pain in the youngest patients is still minimized — doctors are not taught how to diagnose and treat it effectively, and many patients are simply not believed.

There are only four pain treatment clinics for children operating in the entire country.

Providing one child with comprehensive care — a specialist doctor, physiotherapist, psychotherapist, and sometimes also a dietitian and procedures — costs at least PLN 2,000 gross per month.

These costs often exceed what parents can afford, because chronic pain treatment sometimes lasts for years.
