education and pain treatment
Helping children living with chronic pain
First of all, the foundation’s main goal is to help children living with chronic pain and their families. Pain in children is still often dismissed, and there are only four pediatric pain clinics in Poland. The cost of holistic care for one patient is at least PLN 2,000 gross per month and may include a specialist doctor, physiotherapist, psychotherapist, procedures and, when needed, a dietitian. These costs are very high for parents because chronic pain treatment can sometimes last for years. Your support at the beginning of our journey will be invaluable. Help us care for the youngest patients.
Education about chronic pain
Secondly, one of the foundation’s goals is education in pain treatment. This subject is still too often treated as secondary, underestimated and pushed aside. During their training, medical professionals do not receive complete, up-to-date knowledge about acute and chronic pain, and patients do not know that pain can and should be treated.
That is why we educate and want to do it on an even larger scale, but above all even better. Not only on social media, but also in traditional media and in person.
Building the first pain treatment center in Poland
Thirdly, we have a big dream: we want to build the first inpatient pain treatment center in Poland, where we will also be able to help patients on site. What does that mean? We want to admit patients for treatment stays during which they will have everything needed for pain treatment in one place: appropriate pharmacotherapy, interventional methods such as nerve blocks, thermolesion and other procedural techniques, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, dietetic support, occupational therapy and much more. We want to help as we do now, both adults and children, following the example of centers in Europe that already work very well in this way.
